One Season grew from the friendship and collaboration of singer/guitarists Chris Harris and Tim Bernard. After recording a debut EP titled "As Bad As It Gets" at Rax Trax Studios in late 2011 and filling out the lineup with Ryan Taylor on bass and Chris Close on drums, they have hit the Chicago music scene by storm.
As a band with two primary songwriters, and a penchant for jamming during practices, it's no surprise that the music is influenced by a wide variety of sounds. The base One Season sound is blues rock, salted with funk, soul, alternative rock, and accented with pop sensibilities. The band calls this eclectic concoction "Omni-Rock," and it has resonated with many audiences throughout Chicago.
With two lead singers, big harmonies, inspired guitar-work, a thundering rhythm section, and a tight musical connection between its members, a One Season performance is truly electric. The band has recently been lighting up cornerstone Chicago institutions, such as Subterranean, the Cubby Bear, and Lincoln Hall. The band is currently recording another EP and planning to release it later this year.
