Earthen

EARTHEN is a Chicago based metal band which seeks to provide a range of listeners with quality music inspired by life experiences and the voice of nature which resonates within us all...
Earthen was born of "The Narthex Projeckt", a creation brought into being in 2003 by Mike Le Gros. Originally a female fronted band, after experimenting with various different sounds and a plethora of members who came and went, Earthen has finally evolved into the sort of musical experience that it is today. Nature being the ever present driving force in all of our lives, is often reflected in both the imagery and music that Earthen produces. Each member provides his or her own unique addition to the sound whether it be the soul-churning guitars, the storm of drums, the powerful emotion of the keyboards, the lilting accent of the flute, the thunder of bass or the haunting melody of the male vocals. Together they coalesce to form a voice that has been forgotten by humankind for far too long. You can hear us in the wolf's mournful howl or in the night wind as it whispers through the ghostly trees. We are here to remind you of the fate that binds us all. We are Earthen.
Winterhymn

On distant, misty plains, echoes the sound of steel clanking on steel--the gallop of a thousand frenzied horses--the swollen beat of war drums. Scores of warriors bellow their anthems of victory, while others cry out in pain as their last breaths are viciously forced from their lungs. These are the sounds of Winterhymn.
What the followers of metal now call Winterhymn was once but a cosmic seed spawned from the minds of Ulfr and Draug. By way of the duo's guitar and vocal onslaught, Sieven's resounding war-drums, the haunting threnodies of Exura and Umbriel and the thunderous bass of Warg, these dreams were wrenched from the firmament and used to forge a weapon of limitless power-one which thirsts for the destruction of all who would blaspheme the metal name.
With the fantasy and escapism of power metal and brutal bludgeoning of modern death and black metal comes Winterhymn, a natural force intent on musical conquest. Raise your swords and cheer with us, or ready your knees and fall before us. The invasion has begun.
Anticosm
Four people playing shit. And by shit we mean Drunken stupor induced metal. Dark Thrash with old school soloing.
Empyreus
Empyreus plays a form of modern Black Metal. Melodic, yet aggressive
- focusing lyrically on occultism, apostasy, and materialism. Influenced
by music from the Scandinavian and American Extreme Metal
Scenes. The band originally formed in 2007 as “Entrancemperium” by
Nick Morgan (Guitars) and S.M. Void (Bass). The band recorded a short
EP and played several shows in 2008. In 2009, the band was troubled with
lineup changes, and was joined by Tom Knudsen (Vocals) and David
Swanson (Drums). At this time the Band decided they would go forward
as Empyrues. In 2010 David left the band, to be replaced by Steve
Uildriks, completing the current lineup.
Veneficum
v e n e f i c u m: The Poisoner; the one who brings death.
“the grandiose overtures convey a vast atmosphere, but it is never mechanical or robotic, rather wondrous and infinite... all rendered in suitably pristine fashion from the Finnvox production.” - Digital Metal
“With structured songs, freezing vocals, and intelligent lyrics, this is surely a band that will wake some people up.” - PIT Magazine
“Devoid of satanic and overused, occult references, Veneficum focus on more philosophic and scientific issues while keeping its musicial roots in symphonic blackness. “ - Jackal Blaster Zine
